Boys & Girls Club of Central New Mexico creates community leaders

The Bank of America and Boys & Girls Club of Central New Mexico are helping develop the next generation of community leaders through Student Leaders which recognizes community-minded high school juniors and seniors and connects them to employment, skills development, leadership training and service.

Student leaders will work at the Boys & Girls Club of Central New Mexico this summer and join their peers from across the country in Washington D.C. for a national Student Leadership Summit.  As part of the Summit, students will learn how to build a more diverse and inclusive society, gain a better understanding of how cross-sector collaboration creates community impact, and learn how they can become more engaged and impactful citizens.

The program is limited to two New Mexicans who will be part of the 225 student body participating from 85 different cities where Bank of America has offices. The deadline to apply is February 1.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Mexico serves over 4,000 children between 5 and 18-years-old in the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho area. Their six locations in Central New Mexico provide children with a safe and encouraging environment during after-school hours.
