People looking for haunted sites and ghost stories, New Mexico is the place to be.
The New Mexico tourism department has created a database of places for those looking for information.
With a rich Wild West history, New Mexico has no shortage of fodder for ghost stories, and no shortage of great places to haunt. Since looking for ghouls and exploring the best of old ghost towns is a favorite for many residents, the New Mexico Department of Tourism conducted a survey to determine which spots in the state are the most haunted.
“The Ghost Towns page on the New Mexico True Tourism website is one of the most heavily trafficked year round,” explained Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Latham. “While we’ve always encouraged exploring the state’s many haunted spots and ghost towns and know that it’s especially timely around this season, it also provides an opportunity to learn more about New Mexico’s culture and our link provides a deeper look into the history of these areas.”
