The ABQ To Do Crew has great ideas for some family activities as people gear up for the weekend from the Mayor’s State of the City celebration, and a performance at the Aux Dog Theater, to Bernalillo County’s Teen Night at Los Vecinos.
Mayor Keller’s State of the City Address
Everyone is invited to the free community celebration and on-site watch party as Mayor Tim Keller delivers his first State of the City Address. Or, join in at one of the watch parties that are held across the City of Albuquerque.
The State of the City Community Celebration will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019. The celebration begins at 12:00 p.m. with the address at 1:00 p.m. at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, Pete Domenici Education Building 1701 4th St SW.
Watch parties will also take place at Marble Downtown, Tractor Brewery and Nexus Westside.
“Thief of Tears” play
This Friday, Nob Hill’s Solo Fest features ‘Thief of Tears’ by Jeffrey Hatcher on the Mainstage at Aux Dog Theatre. Thief of Tears is a story based on a lady who steals jewelry from corpses. After attempting to steal the diamond ring from her deceased grandmother, she finds an overwhelming amount of secrets. The show starts at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Teen Night at Los Vecinos
Don’t forget, Teen Night takes place at the Los Vecinos Community Center on Friday! Tween and Teen Night begins January 11 at 6:15 p.m. The event will feature video games, open gym and cooking.
