ABQ To Do Crew has great family events including half-price weekend at Biopark

January Half-Price Weekend at the BioPark

There’s a variety of events to keep the entire family entertained this weekend and that includes this year’s first Half-Price Weekend at the BioPark. This includes the Botanic Garden, Zoo and Aquarium Admission.

Admission for New Mexico residents from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. will be $5 for adults, $2.75 for seniors (65 and up) and $2.50 per child (3-12). Admission for out of state visitors will be $7.25 for adults, $3.75 for seniors and $3 for children.

Activities this weekend include Winter Fire Colors indoor flower show, hippo feedings at 2 p.m. and Sea Turtle Awareness Day activities at the Aquarium from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday.

Mayor Tim Keller has also announced special free admission to Cultural Services facilities, including the BioPark, for furloughed federal employees during the partial government shutdown. A current and valid federal government ID card must be presented at each venue.

Golden Dragon Acrobats

The Golden Dragon Acrobats create sensational shows featuring traditional Chinese acrobatic arts. They make the impossible look effortless through a combination of award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance and spectacular costumes.  With traditional dance and spectacular costumes, they continue to awe audiences nationwide with their talent and beauty. This is a one-time performance happening Sunday, January 20, 2019, at 3 p.m. Tickets range between $25 and $59.

3rd Annual Sheriff’s Ball: Giving from the Heart

On February 2, 2019, Sheriff Manuel Gonzales III and his Command Staff will be hosting the 3rd annual Sheriff’s Ball: Giving from the Heart. Please join the Sheriff in honoring the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office 2018 Deputies and Civilian of the Year, along with the Lifesaver Awards; and a very special presentation to “The Heart of the Community” for unmatched generosity and continued commitment to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of this County.

Each year it partners with two charities in our community to raise money for them and to show appreciation to the employees of the department. The 2019 Charity Partners are Bedz4Kids and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

Event Details: 3rd Annual Sheriff’s Ball: Giving from the Heart Saturday, February 2, 6 – 9 p.m. Hotel Albuquerque Tickets are selling fast! $100 per person, dinner $150 per person, dinner and after-party event.
