The Great Backyard Bird Count is a nationwide citizen-science project to collect data on migratory birds. Citizen scientists, nature lovers and bird enthusiasts are invited to grab their binoculars and head to the Botanic Garden for the nationwide Great Backyard Bird Count. Volunteer with other citizen scientists around the country for this annual snapshot of migratory birds. All information collected will be given to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to be compiled with data from around the country. This is a free event.
The event takes place Feb. 16, 2019, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
RENT takes the stage starting Friday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. with four performances lasting until Sunday, Feb. 17 at 1:00 p.m. Celebrating their 20th anniversary, seven artists continue to measure their lives in love. The performance that changed Broadway following its debut in 1996, reminds audiences near and far to measure their life in love, especially when they face challenges in achieving their dreams.

See how deep you can dig, test the soil around the park, express yourself with sand and illustrate the rock cycle in this grounding overview of the world beneath our feet. You can break open rocks, make mud sculptures and test the percolating properties of soil.
