For the month of March, the New Mexico Poison Center hosts a public campaign designed to increase awareness of poisoning trends and how to prevent poisonings through several platforms, including social media and public service announcements.
Poisonings span a lifetime and poison prevention is a part of injury prevention. Jacqueline Kakos stopped by the set to further discuss the role of the New Mexico Poison Center.
The New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of poisoning in New Mexico. The Center is available to the public and health care professionals 24-hours a day, 7-days a week.
Expert staff assess and makes treatment recommendations during possible poisonings, and assist emergency personnel during hazardous material incidents.
