Sadly, more than one out of four children live in poverty in New Mexico. Many go without basic needs being met. This is where you can show your support through the Shoes for Kids Campaign. Thousands have never even owned a pair of new shoes. KRQE Cares Shoes for Kids was founded to help make a tangible difference for children.

Thursday, Mar 14 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., tune in to KRQE. Call and make a donation or go to to make a donation online.

KRQE Cares Shoes for Kids is about the kids in our community. In partnership with Assistance League of Albuquerque and several corporate sponsorships, such as Kirtland Federal Credit Union, KRQE has set out to make a difference in the lives of children in New Mexico. “Shoes for Kids” is a program that puts brand new athletic shoes on children in Title 1 elementary schools. Every child in the school gets a new pair of shoes, this is an average of 400 students per school.
