Spring Fling 2019 has humorous, heartfelt ‘Energy in Motion’ dances

Spring Fling 2019 is a dance production which includes some of the best pieces from previous productions of Energy in Motion, as well as new pieces.

The performance is family-friendly and will present both humorous and heartfelt numbers.

Cecelia Palladino-Jaramillo created Energy In Motion in 1992 to give her young dancers performing experience. Their first winter performance, “A Joyful Noise” was held at the University of New Mexico Continuing Education, where they continued to present productions through 1995. From that time on, Energy In Motion has performed annual Winter shows as well as four Spring Flings at the South Broadway Cultural Center.

The dancers have also done numerous lecture demonstrations at elementary and middle schools in Albuquerque and Bernalillo, and at UNM. The Company consists of dancers ranging in age from 10 – 25+. All proceeds from Energy In Motion performances go into a scholarship fund, which enables members to attend summer workshops, and also to bring in guest instructors.

In the past, dancers have used their scholarships to attend classes in Walnut Hill, Boston Ballet, The Edge in Los Angeles, and for professional auditions in Los Angeles and Chicago.
