‘Carved & Cast’ at NM Museum of Art

Bringing art off the walls and into the 3rd dimension, Carved & Cast highlights the medium of sculpture -specifically that inspired by the great southwest.  Now showing at the New Mexico Museum of Art, this exhibition features five prominent sculptors who called New Mexico home.

Among the featured artists are Patrocinio Barela, Agnes C. Sims, Eugenie Shonnard, Fritz Scholder and Una Hanbury.  Their varied styles from abstract to figurative, exploring the people, places and environments of New Mexico and the southwestern region.

The show has been extended through July 28th by popular demand and is included in the price of admission.  The New Mexico Art Museum believes art is for everyone.  They create authentic experiences that foster a deeper understanding and enjoyment of fine art throughout the state.  They continue to bring the art of the world to New Mexico and the art of New Mexico to the world.
