The Albuquerque Barbershop Community Collaborative is sponsoring their 19th annual New Mexico Youth Harmony Camp this summer. This a great way for teenagers from all over New Mexico to participate in the lively and entertaining technique of a capella music and singing.
Accomplished performers and music education professionals will be there. The male and female ensembles each learn their own repertoire in four-part harmony, then combine for two numbers in eight-part harmony. There are recreational activities to round out the week, and abundant opportunity to sing together with new and old friends. The camp culminates in a public performance in Albuquerque for family, friends, and teachers.
The New Mexico Youth Harmony Camp will take place on June 19-22 at the New Mexico Tech Campus in Socorro. Tuition is $245 which includes meals & 3-nights lodging, sheet music with learning tracks, professional instruction, and a T-shirt. Financial assistance is available.
The camp is open to students having just completed grade 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12. Go to New Mexico Youth Harmony Camp for more information.
