New Mexico State Parks promote National Safe Boating Week

As summer nears, people are planning some outdoor adventures. That means hundreds of people are getting their boats ready for the lake. A Proclamation has been issued by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham for National Safe Boating Week in New Mexico. Next Saturday will be the kick off for National Safe Boating Week which promotes boating and life jacket safety to boaters everywhere. Media Day at Navajo Lake State Park will be held May 18th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with activities planned for the media to experience what NM State Parks and the Navajo Lake Marina have to offer.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will host a Life Jacket Clinic on how to properly wear a life jacket Water sports during the event will include kayaking, canoeing, bumper boats, paddle boarding, and speed Boats.
