Native New Mexico author Connie Perez has book with golden honors

From working on a ranch to writing an award-winning children’s book about it, Connie Perez is a native New Mexican, ranch wife, mother, and retired elementary school teacher.

When Perez was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, she looked for a way to cope with her diagnosis. The result was nothing short of amazing. She is now the creator and author of an award-winning children’s book.”Home on the Rocking R Ranch” and it is a Mom’s Choice Awards Gold Recipient.

Perez gives young readers a glimpse of ranch life through colorful illustrations and western adventures. The children’s picture book introduces the day-to-day activities of life over the course of a year on a working cattle ranch in New Mexico, from the birth of calves to their transport to market.
