New Mexicans will enjoy a cultural experience through music, dance, and food. The 5th Annual South American Folk Fair on May 19, seeks to unite Albuquerque’s South American community in a day of cultural experiences. In addition to food vendors from participating countries, the festival will feature traditional dancers representing Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, and/or Ecuador. The band Panchangara will be featured, along with local musicians. Added attractions for the entire family include children’s art workshops and opportunities for souvenir photos featuring the festival banner.
This event on May 19, is presented by the National Hispanic Cultural Center. The location of the event is Salon Ortega Patio Courtyard, 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Time of event is 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Price: $14 in advance, $16 day of the show with a $2 discount for NHCC members. Children ages 12 and younger will be admitted for free.
