Albuquerque kicks off summer with jazz, dinner theatre, and movies in the park

From movies in the park and jazz under the stars to murder mystery dinner theater shows there’s a variety of ways to have fun in the Duke City this weekend.

NM Jazz Under the Stars

The 2019 season of Jazz Under the Stars presented by New Mexico Jazz Workshop kicks off this weekend at the Albuquerque Museum Amphitheater.  The “Party Like Gatsby” a swing dance night begins Saturday, June 1 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Children 12 and under are free and Albuquerque Museum Members will receive a member discount. Tickets prices run from $10 to $30.

Mr. Mayweather’s Mansion of Mysteries

New Mexico’s premiere murder mystery dinner theatre, Foul Play Cafe, presents its latest show by Micah Linford. Mr. Mayweather has believed that his mansion is haunted and he now has the chance to prove it by holding a seance and you’re invited. The show runs Saturdays June through August and admission includes a four-course meal, laughs, and actor improvisation. Adult tickets run $52.99 and youth 12 and under at $29.99.

Movies in the Park

Bernalillo County is bringing back free movies in the park this summer. “Hotel Transylvania 3” kicks off the season’s film lineup and will be shown at the Westside Community Center Saturday, June 1. Movies begin at dusk and are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. Movies will be showing all month until June 30.
