Things happening in Albuquerque: Award-winning plays, Father’s Day event, movies in the park

There is a lot of cool things happening in Albuquerque this upcoming weekend.

Old Town is celebrating Father’s Day with live entertainment, food trucks, rock climbing and face painting for kids. Festivities are June 16 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is playing at Popejoy. The show tells the inspiring true story of King’s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Bernalillo County will be presenting two movies in the park. Bumble Bee will be playing at Raymond G. Sanchez on Friday, June 14. Ralph Breaks the Internet will be playing at Prado del Sol Saturday, June 15. Learn more about BernCo movies in the park.
