There’s never a shortage of fun things to do in Albuquerque.

Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque Showcase & Competition

The Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque Showcase & Competition provides an opportunity for musicians from around the country who have attended the 3-day Mariachi Spectacular Conference to perform for the people of Albuquerque and to compete for the opening slot in the Mariachi Spectacular Concert at Sandia Casino Amphitheater. The live concert event is streamed live worldwide from downtown ABQ’s Civic Plaza.

The free event is July 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Tortuga Storytelling Series: Women Who Made Us

Tortuga Storytelling Series is a collaboration between Storytellers of New Mexico and Tortuga Gallery. This month, the Tortuga Storytelling Series is proud to offer the talents of visiting storytellers, Juba Addison (Las Cruces) and Sean Buvala (Phoenix). Amidst the fine artist interpretations of Women Who Made Us, Juba and Sean will shower people with tales from folklore and their own personal journeys about women who you might identify within your own life.

The event is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 12 at the Tortuga Gallery, located at 901 Edith Blvd SE Albuquerque, New Mexico. Tickets at the door are $10.
