The American Cancer Society Relay for Life Movement is the world’s largest peer-to-peer fundraising event to save lives from cancer.
Relay For Life is a grass-roots, community-based team event. Every Relay For Life event is a little different, but there are some things in common. Relay is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, and it involves teams taking turns with one member walking or running on a route at all times.
Team members trade-off like a relay. United Metro Relay For Life of New Mexico is held in Albuquerque and unites the communities of Los Lunas and Rio Rancho. The event will be held at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial for the first time ever, on Friday, August 9.
The American Cancer Society is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by calling the National Cancer Information Center at 800-227-2345. Information can also be found at cancer.org.
