Comcast ‘Internet Essential program’ helps low-income families get internet

Comcast Cable is one of the countries largest video high-speed internet and phone providers to residential customers under the Xfinity brand. The company is providing a Comcast Internet Essentials program.

The program aims to help close the divide of people who don’t have internet in their home. Comcast created the program to try and get low-income families connected to the internet. It offers low-cost internet service for less than $10 a month, the option to purchase internet-capable computer equipment for under $150 and a full suite of digital literacy and awareness training programs.

Since 2011, the Internet Essentials program has connected more than 8 million low-income people to low-cost high-speed internet.
