New Mexico State Fair brings two new festivals to the fairgrounds

The New Mexico State Fair is only nine days away. This year, Expo New Mexico and New Mexico Wine have partnered to bring two new festivals: the State Fair Cider Festival and the State Fair Wine Festival.

State Fair Cider Festival features five local hard cider producers inside “The Farm” on the fairgrounds. This is a mini-cider festival for $10 and festival goers get a commemorative glass for your cider samples. The fest is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on September 7.

Then on September 14, the winners of the State Fair Wine Competition at the State Fair Wine Fest will be showcased from 5 p.m .to 8 p.m. Half dozen award-winning wineries and breweries will be bringing their best stuff to the fest.

For the first time in a decade of this competition fairgoers can enjoy the best wines from across the state, Rose, Sav Blanc, Montepulciano, and again, it’s just a $10 ticket once you are inside the fair or you can buy it online now for $18 and it includes your entry into the fair.
