Subway supports local food banks in effort to fight hunger

In the month of September, which is Hunger Action Month, local Subway restaurants are partnering with Feeding America and local food banks to assist with the fight against hunger. New Mexico Subway restaurants are striving to provide up to 120,000 meals to local Feeding America food banks which include Roadrunner Foodbank, and Care and Share Food Bank.

During this initiative, when Subway guests purchase a sub, salad, or wrap with any drink and chips, (or two cookies) their purchase will help feed people in the community. In New Mexico, every two meals purchased from September 1 to September 30 will result in one meal being donated with up to 120,000 meals being donated to local food banks.

This is the first year that local Subway restaurants have collaborated with Feeding America during Hunger Action Month in the hope the collaboration will make a local impact in communities. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 1 in 8 individuals struggles with hunger in the United States which means 40 million people across the country don’t have enough to eat.
