With September being Mental Health Awareness Month, Dr. Stevie DeJuan Springer of Wise and Well visited the set to discuss ways to control mental health through healthy nutrition.
He explains that the gut and the brain are directly linked and that being able to control inflammation is a factor when controlling depression. Dr. Stevie lists several foods that are beneficial to your mental health, adding that depression can be linked to the gut and treating the gut will lead to benefits in the brain.
