Animal Humane shows off Pet of the Week, preps for Doggie Dash

Founded in 1965, Animal Humane New Mexico is the state’s leading private, nonprofit animal welfare organization serving more than 10,000 homeless and at-risk dogs and cats each year. If you’re looking to add a furry friend to your home, they have you covered.

Madison Beetz with Animal Humane brought in Pepper, a three-year-old Pit Bull mix. A calm and loving dog, Pepper is incredibly affectionate with people.

Doggie Dash & Dawdle is Animal Humane’s largest fundraising event of the year. This event held at Balloon Fiesta Park allows runners and walkers to participate in a 5K run or one-mile walk with or without a four-legged friend.

A canine carnival will follow after the races. The event will be held on Sunday, November 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
