Animal Welfare honors volunteer superhero Travelin’ Jack with adoption event

He was a beloved shelter puppy who became a superhero for his fellow shelter animals, spending much of his life raising awareness and funds to help hundreds of pets get adopted from local shelters. With the passing of Travelin’ Jack, the Animal Welfare Department is holding a superhero-themed event in his honor.

The event is a combined program between the City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department and Events Unlimited by Jill. During the event, an adopt-a-thon will be held offering dog adoptions for only $5.

Fans of superheroes and animals alike can come to the PetSmart at 350 Eubank Blvd. NE from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to take a photo with their favorite hero.

The Comic Crusaders 4 NM will be in attendance. The Animal Welfare Department will also hold a special bubble release at 11 a.m. in memory of Travelin’ Jack.
