NMDOG hosts Holiday Auction, Closing Reception to benefit abused dogs of New Mexico

When it comes to the care and placement of their dogs, NMDOG does not cut any corners. An all-volunteer organization, NMDOG serves the chained, abused, and forgotten dogs across the state of New Mexico.

They work in partnership with law enforcement and animal control departments, and shelters in the state by assisting them with their most severe cases of abuse and cruelty. NMDOG takes the dogs into their program and provides medical care as well as emotional rehabilitation, getting them ready for adoption.

NMDOG founder and director Angela Stell brought in Axis a loveable 3-year-old Husky with a big personality. Axis is very smart and walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. He is available for adoption or to foster.

With every adoption, NMDOG offers a 7-week obedience class as well as a full veterinary exam, spay or neuter, all vaccinations, deworming, heartworm testing, and a microchip.

NMDOG will be holding its Holiday Auction live on Facebook from November 13 to November 20, 2019. They are asking for any new or gently used items including pet supplies, novelty items, jewelry, art, services or goods in order to generate funds to help them continue their work. The deadline to submit items is Sunday, November 11.

Winter is a hard time for chained and outdoor dogs. It is crucial to provide adequate shelter, proper food, and warmth.

NMDOG has a statewide ‘Free Straw’ program that provides warmth throughout the winter to cold, outdoor dogs in need. Reach out to your local shelter and ask if they have any free straw available or you can reach out to NMDOG directly.
