Fun fall events happening this weekend in Albuquerque

There is always something fun to do in Albuquerque.

First, it’s half-priced weekend at the Albuquerque BioPark. On Saturday, October 19 there will be a screening of the Nightmare Before Christmas in the Aquarium’s Route 66 Theatre. There will also be live folk music, wagon rides, green chile roasting, a car show and yard games, fresh-pressed cider and more at the Aquarium and Botanic Gardens.

New Mexico residents can visit the Zoo or Aquarium & Botanic Garden for $5 per adult and $2.75 per senior (65+) and $2.50 per child (3-12).

If your in the mood for a musical this weekend, Popejoy has you covered. Jesus Christ Superstar is playing at Popejoy this weekend. Jesus Christ Superstar is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary series of events during the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas.

Two other things happening this weekend are the Bats of New Mexico and the Fermentation Festival. The Bats of New Mexico takes place at the Bachechi Open Space Saturday, October 19 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event aims to educate people about bats and what they can do to help the species.

The Fermentation Festival is taking place Saturday, October 19 at the Gutierrez-Hubbell House. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. people will learn more about preserving fresh, local food. The event also includes hands-on workshops, lectures, and tutorials.
