Animal Humane shows off Pet of the Week, prepares for Doggie Dash

Are you looking to adopt a dog? Big or small, Animal Humane New Mexico has you covered.

Billy is a male 5-year-old American Pitbull cross that is in need of a loving home. He is a happy, fun-loving dog who loves kids. Billy has great energy but also is well-mannered.

Doggie Dash & Dawdle is Animal Humane New Mexico’s largest fundraising event of the year and you can still register to participate in the event. Proceeds will benefit more than 10,000 homeless and at-risk pets the shelter helps annually.

Shelter officials hope to meet their fundraising goal of $325,000.

Registration costs $35 for adults, $20 for ages 12 and under and canines are free. Doggie Dash & Dawdle takes place on Sunday, November 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Balloon Fiesta Park.

Founded in 1965, Animal Humane is the state’s leading private, nonprofit animal welfare organization. They never euthanize based on age or length of stay and have rehomed 100% of healthy pets in their care since 2010.
