Each year, the New Mexico Philharmonic Orchestra performs 35 concerts around Albuquerque while also providing an extensive music education program. Their upcoming concert at Popejoy Hall has something special in-store.
The Olga Kern International Piano Competition provides audiences to see developing world-class pianists at the start of their professional careers. The finalists and winners of the competition will go on to acclaimed careers performing across the world.
The competition is held in Albuquerque every three years and is open to pianists ages 18 to 32. Winners will be awarded more than $30,000 in cash prizes and the first prize winner will benefit from concert engagements throughout the United States and Europe.
The Olga Kern International Piano Competition will take place Saturday, October 28 through November 3, 2019 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. The competition is free to attend and a webcast will be available online as well.
