2020 Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off with a multitude of special guests

Today kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month, which is the celebration of culture that largely defines New Mexico. State dignitaries, celebrities, and artists will help ring in the celebration lasting all month long. Patricia Chavez discussed what New Mexicans can expect from a virtual celebration.

The goal of the Hispanic Heritage Committee is to promote, preserve, and celebrate Hispanic Heritage, Culture, and History. Their volunteer members are composed of dedicated individuals from both the public and private sectors throughout New Mexico. Their goal is to recognize, highlight and support the contributions Hispanic and Latino Americans have made and continue to make in the United States.

The Hispanic Heritage Committee hosts and supports several events throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, which is from September 15 to October 15. Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to recognize and highlight the contributions made by Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States and celebrate their heritage and culture.

While Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15, the Hispanic Heritage Committee focuses on recognizing, highlighting, and supporting the contributions Hispanic and Latino Americans have made and continue to make in the United States throughout the year.
